Monthly Mission: Live Out Loud

Each month this school year, we are bringing you an MASC Monthly Mission. Get inspired, get ideas and get motivated to make your schools awesome.

Each Monthly Mission will feature a blog post detailing how you can incorporate each month’s Mission. You can also download an awesome phone wallpaper to use to remind yourself of the Mission every time you look at your phone.

The time is now.

It’s time to Live Out Loud.

You might be asking what that means and the truth is that it means something different to everyone. In a way, you could say that it is similar to living with gusto or living with “excessive zeal.”

If you live out loud, you want the world to know who you are. It doesn’t necessarily mean being loud and eccentric, it means allowing your strength of character to shine. The truth is that each and every one of us has the opportunity to live out loud – it is definitely a choice. There will always be excuses, but it is a choice to live your life out loud and be confident in doing so.

In 2003, Sharpie unveiled a new slogan that was “Write Out Loud.” Basically what that campaign meant was that when you write something in marker it stands out and leaves a bigger impact than a pencil.

We are leaders in our schools and community and part of that responsibility is making people feel welcome and comfortable so that they can live out loud as well.

Here is the perfect opportunity: Homecoming.

For many of our schools, September represents homecoming month and that means spirit days, pep rallies and lots of school spirit. In other words, it is the perfect opportunity to lead by example and live out loud.

Maybe this is an extreme example, but people will look to you throughout the school year for inspiration and motivation to “jump in the pool.” Whether you are an orange or green, silver or teal, you have the opportunity to Live Out Loud and help create a strong sense of school pride that can last all year long. But it starts now and it starts with a choice to Live Out Loud.

Here is our #MASCmission this month: Learn what “Live Out Loud” means to you and then do it.

September isn’t that long of a month, you can do it!

Now it’s your turn! During your mission this month, don’t forget to share your experiences with us on social media!

Be sure to check back next month for our next Monthly Mission!
